Joel Gourdin, CAIA®

As Vice President of Portfolio Consulting and Analytics, Joel leverages the insight and resources of the Portfolio Consulting team to provide guidance to Brown Financial Services Group on topics of investment alignment, asset allocation and portfolio risk. Knowing the challenges of applying quantitative analysis, his mission is to make what is complex more digestible and enhance the investment experience of the end-client.

Joel joined the team from the Principal Financial Group, where he spent three years as Director of Portfolio Analytics. In this role, he developed an in-house, portfolio consulting program designed to apply forward-looking analysis to advisor portfolios in order to better address risk.

Joel currently resides in Folsom with his wife, their two children, and a mischievous miniature labradoodle named after a member of the Beatles—appropriate for a family that loves music.
